Technical Specialist Services
In order to provide technical support and advisory services in support of Canada’s international assistance program, the FSSP in Bangladesh maintains a pool of specialists in various priority areas. At present, the FSSP has 6 consultants engaged in the following sectors:

4. Gender Equality
5. Humanitarian Assistance
By undertaking review, research, field visits, analysis, networking and attending meeting of concerned stakeholders and fora, the technical specialists provide technical advice and support to GAC programs and projects in the above mentioned sectors to ensure effective and resource efficient programming, with the ultimate goal of contributing to better development results in Bangladesh.
Other Support Services
>> Administrative services (e.g., developing and maintaining databases of NGOs and key contacts, advising on the structure and functions of local ministries, advising on and assisting in interpretation and translation)
>> Financial services (e.g., advising on local economic indicators, banking institutions, reasonableness of estimated expenses for goods or services in Bangladesh)
>> Procurement services (e.g., procuring project inputs, maintaining a list of qualified technical specialists and market rates, evaluating and selecting suppliers)
>> Logistical services (e.g., booking accommodation, making in-country and international travel arrangements, arranging vehicle rental, event planning and management, advising on permanent accommodation, assisting with various government permits and documentation)
>> Support to GAC’s local development initiatives (e.g., coordinating calls for proposals, conducting preliminary screening of proposals, supporting or conducting due diligence of short-listed proponents, preparing local contribution agreements, monitoring initiative implementation, coordinating audits)
>> Maintaining office space, equipment and transportation for technical specialists and other designated parties, i.e., organizations or individuals (e.g., advisors, interns) implementing GAC ODA projects.
>> Other Support, as and when required.
