In order to ensure the effectiveness, efficiency, quality and relevance of Canada’s support in responding to Bangladesh’s development and humanitarian challenges, the Field Support Services Project (FSSP) in Bangladesh has been designed to provide Canada’s international assistance program and partners with access to technical expertise with local knowledge and experience, as well as provide supplementary administrative and logistical support to Canadian cooperation initiatives. The FSSP receives funding from Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Government of Canada’s department responsible for Canada’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) programming.
The FSSP procures, contracts and manages a pool of Technical Specialists, who are instrumental in providing appropriate support for GAC’s priority themes, sectors and initiatives, and monitoring GAC’s investments, emerging priorities, and cross-cutting issues. They are also engaged to support project and program analysis and development, as well as Canada’s donor coordination and aid effectiveness activities. In addition to providing these technical advisory services, the FSSP supports Canadian cooperation by providing administrative, logistical, financial and procurement services and supporting local development initiatives.
The FSSP maintains an office space with the required furniture, equipment and communication facilities, and transportation support. In addition to required number of work stations, computers, printers and photocopiers, the office has 1 large and 2 small meeting rooms. The large meeting room is suitable for workshop & training and is equipped with professional grade projector & screen, tele-conference and video conference equipment. The office is well covered with dedicated Wi-Fi and internet facilities and maintains a fleet of vehicles at own car parking.
The FSSP in Bangladesh is managed by Frannan International Limited.
